Unveiled Course Induction

27 October 2022

On 5th of October 2022, The Shepherd’s Academy inducted several Church leaders across Africa into a short, professional course on Islam called Unveiled.

The course is produced by Prof Patrick Sookhdeo with the purpose helping Christians to know what the religion of Islam teaches and to understand the worldview of Muslim people.

Islam and Christianity are very different, but Muslim people and Christian people are all human beings. Muslims and Christians value goodness and kindness and can live in peace together, as they have done for centuries in some places. Christians must always love Muslims with the love of Christ.

The aim of this course is for Christians to learn how different Islam is from Christianity and to be aware of how Islam has spread across the world, both in the past and now. The last chapter looks at how to share the Gospel with Muslims. The chapters include Bible readings. These are there to give a Christian perspective on each chapter. During the session, Mr. Joshua Nurcombe-Pike briefly introduced the programs available with TSA/OCRPL, Godfrey Paruthivilai conducted a tech session and Godwin Adeboye served as the moderator.

The session was well attended by 125 African Church leaders, missionaries, evangelists and theologians. It was a time of orientation, information and acquisition of study skills for the course. We now have up to 16 cohorts running in partnership with institutions and Church networks across Africa.
